Business Development Executive – Manchester (Permanent)

About the Role
As Business Development Executive, you’ll be responsible for developing On Trade, Route to Market and selected specialist retail accounts across Manchester and the North-West, with some accounts having a national reach.
With a focus on CVH Spirits’ owned portfolio and distribution brands, you’ll build strong customer relationships, identify new commercial opportunities and deliver sustainable, value-led growth. You’ll have the autonomy to manage your territory while working collaboratively with colleagues across the business.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and develop On Trade, Route to Market and selected specialist retail accounts.
• Identify new opportunities and grow existing customer relationships.
•Deliver agreed sales, distribution, volume and gross income targets.
•Develop and execute territory plans aligned with the wider UK commercial strategy.
•Conduct customer tastings, product presentations and staff training.
•Manage expenses, account spend, samples and supporting budgets effectively.
•Maintain accurate customer information and activity through our CRM software (Bowimi).
•Monitor market trends and provide regular updates to line management and the wider business.

•Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
•Confident delivering customer presentations and contributing to tender proposals.
•Ability to build credible, long-term relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
•Strong knowledge of the Manchester On Trade market and customer base.
•Able to work independently, manage priorities and identify commercial opportunities.
•Collaborative, inclusive and comfortable working across different departments.

Qualifications and Experience
•Relevant experience within sales, business development or account management.
•Knowledge of the On Trade, Route to Market or premium spirits sector.
•Strong product knowledge, particularly across malt whisky and rum, would be advantageous.
•Good IT skills, including Excel and other Microsoft applications.
•Willingness to travel across Manchester, Leeds and the wider North-West, with occasional travel to other areas as required.
