The official online course about Champagne wines is available, provided free of charge by the Comité Champagne as a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course). The Comité Champagne is, “the trade association that represents the interests of independent Champagne producers and Champagne Houses”.

This scrappy, self-directed wine learning playlist features 7 hours of curated videos from quality YouTubers including Wine Folly, Guildsomm, and LCBO.
In this series, you’ll learn the basics of wine and the professional tasting method, and it will also introduce you to several of the world’s most popular wines and wine regions.

The Science of Alcohol by The Open University
This free badged course, The science of alcohol, lasts 24 hours, with 8 weeks. You can work through the course at your own pace, so if you have more time one week there is no problem with pushing on to complete a further week. The eight weeks are linked to ensure a logical flow through the course. They are:
- What is alcohol?
- An introduction to brewing
- Taste and smell
- Brewing on an industrial scale
- The short-term effects of alcohol
- Distillation and spirits
- The long-term effects of alcohol consumption
- Product protection and maintaining product provenance.

The first iteration of this seminar was an un-sponsored in-real-life seminar Philip gave at the Tales of the Cocktail festival in New Orleans many years ago.
