Ahead of International Beer Day this week on Friday 7th August, there has been a new whitepaper released from Ipsos and IWSR, commissioned by AB InBev.
The report, The Consumer Trends Shaping Adult Beverages, offers new global data on how drinking habits are evolving.
It finds that while consumers are making more intentional choices about when, where, and why they drink, alcohol continues to play an important role in social and cultural occasions.
Among the key findings:
– Global beverage alcohol volume remains more than 30% above early-2000s levels.
– 76% of all LDA+ adults, including 74% of Gen Z of legal drinking age, drink alcohol.
– Beer and Beyond Beer now account for more than half of total share of alcohol servings.
– Consumers are moderating, while social occasions, premiumisation, flavour and convenience, and trusted brands continue to shape purchasing decisions.
