The Irish whiskey industry has grown significantly since 2010, when there were only 4 whisky distilleries in operation: Middleton in County Cork, Cooley in County Louth, Kilbeggan in County Westmeath, all in Ireland and Old Bushmills in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.
Since then, there has been an explosion in the number of distilleries opened including:
• Teeling Whiskey Distillery – Located in Dublin, known for innovative expressions.
• Tullamore D.E.W. Distillery – Revived in 2014, situated in County Offaly.
• Dingle Distillery – An independent distillery in County Kerry.
• The Shed Distillery – Producers of Drumshanbo whiskey in County Leitrim.
• Connacht Whiskey Company – Based in County Mayo.
• Powerscourt Distillery – Located in County Wicklow, known for the Fercullen brand.
• Slane Distillery – Situated on the Slane Castle estate in County Meath.
