Loch Lomond Group’s global travel retail range will now be rolled out at seven UK airports, following a successful launch in February 2017 at World Duty Free’s Glasgow Airport store.

The Loch Lomond Whiskies global travel retail (GTR) range from award-winning independent distiller, Loch Lomond Group, includes four expressions that showcase the innovation and craft championed at Loch Lomond distillery.

Since launch the Loch Lomond GTR scotch whisky range has exceeded expectations and proved successful with travellers from both Scotland and around the world.

Record sales have ensured that the Loch Lomond brand has taken the number one position as the top whisky in World Duty Free’s Glasgow Airport store in February and March and as a result, the travel retailer has requested to stock the brand at each of their 11 World of Whiskies outlets in airports across the UK.

The new GTR collection features two single malt Scotch whiskies – Loch Lomond 12-Year-Old and Loch Lomond Inchmurrin Madeira Cask Finish, as well as the Deluxe blend Loch Lomond Signature and Loch Lomond Single Grain. It incorporates new one litre bottles and premium packaging that underline the quality and provenance of the products.

The expansion into other UK World Duty Free stores is part of the Group’s ambitious worldwide roll-out of their bespoke GTR range. It comes at a time when the Loch Lomond Group is increasing international distribution, which currently sees them now in 100 markets globally, to meet growing demand for its distinctive collection of whiskies.

André de Almeida (pictured above) managing director of Global Travel Retail at Loch Lomond Group, said: “We are excited that the product has sold so well in our home airport and are confident this trend will be replicated across the country. It reflects the success that the Loch Lomond Group’s scotch whisky brands – Loch Lomond, Glen Scotia and Littlemill – are having globally.

“It is part of our ongoing strategy to offer something new to the marketplace that will deliver the same strong sales as reported at Glasgow airport, whilst also giving scotch whisky drinkers around the world something individual and exciting to discover.

“Our packaging has been designed to stand out on the shelf and tells the story of the innovative parts that combine to create the distinctive liquid inside. Our four expressions each offer their own inimitable flavour and character, revealing the innovative techniques used at the distillery. The tasting activity we undertook to support the launch of the products in store has seen us drive trial, convert current scotch whisky drinkers and introduce new people to the category also.”

The GTR collection is priced from £25 to £75 and includes the Loch Lomond Single Grain, which is exclusively distilled with malted barley in Coffey stills; Loch Lomond Signature, a premium Deluxe blend which is matured via the distiller’s 100 cask solera process; the Loch Lomond 12-year-old Single malt, which contains spirit from two different types of stills; and Loch Lomond Inchmurrin Madeira Cask Single malt, which is produced exclusively from the distiller’s unique pot stills with rectifying heads.

Nigel Sandals, Liquor Category Buying Manager at World Duty Free, said:

“The Loch Lomond GTR collection has been an exceptional addition to our Glasgow Airport store. Our customers have been excited about taking home a taste of the world-famous Loch Lomond. The impressive sales of the collection have given us the confidence in the brand to roll it out across all of our World of Whiskies stores in seven UK airports. We believe that all travelers will be keen to try this new and exciting product.”
