JOB OPPORTUNITY – Group Wine Director
I’m currently working on behalf of a substantial UK wholesale drinks business to identify a Group Wine Director.
This is a rare opportunity to join an established and growing wine operation at an exciting stage of its development. Significant investment has already been made in strengthening the wine proposition, creating a strong platform from which to drive the next phase of growth.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for wine buying strategy, supplier partnerships, portfolio development and the leadership of an established team of Wine Development Managers.
A key part of the role will be developing and strengthening relationships with overseas producers and suppliers, helping to grow direct sourcing relationships and further enhance the wine offering available to customers.
This is a highly visible position, offering the opportunity to become the face of wine within a significant wholesale drinks business, championing the category internally whilst representing the business with suppliers, customers and the wider wine trade.
We’re particularly interested in speaking with individuals who combine:
• Strong wine buying and commercial experience
• Proven leadership capability
• Established relationships with producers and suppliers
• Experience developing wine sales and category growth
• The credibility to operate comfortably at both strategic and operational levels
This is far more than a buying role. It is an opportunity to shape future strategy, lead an established team and play a key role in the continued growth of an ambitious wine division with a large wholesale operation..
You must be UK Based with right to work
UK Drivers Licence
Full Time Role (Remote based with regular travel to team, customer and supplier meetings & head office in North UK)
Team Management Experience
Salary up to £75k – plus bonus
