Ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 tournament, there has been a number of whiskies released linked to football. Here are the latest football-themed releases found so far…
Master of Malt – Football Range
This limited edition five-expression collection spans Scottish, English, and Irish whisky, with each bottle featuring label artwork by in-house duo Ben McKeown and Chris Gunter. The labels were inspired by the iconic kits of the Italia ’90 and France ’98 World Cup games, which the experts state “a generation still talks about”. Celebrating the spirit of international football with a collection of limited edition whisky bottlings . Three proud nations, one beautiful game.
“I love whisky. I don’t care about football. Turns out everyone I work with does. So we made these.” Sam Simmons, Head of Whisky at Master of Malt
Gleann Mor Spirits Company – The Official Whisky of the Scottish National Team
Two Rare Find whiskies were created to celebrate the Scottish Football Association’s journey to the FIFA World Cup 2026 – Canada, Mexico and the United States.
The Glen Elgin 27 year old was distilled in 1998 – the last time Scotland’s mens team graced the world stage in France. Matured with patience and purpose, this whisky has waited for the right moment, much like the team we’ll be backing in 2026 as they set their sights on the USA.
The Bunnahabhain 11 year old, distilled in 2014, is a bright and energetic single malt. Bold and full of character, it embodies the spirit of the Tartan Army – vibrant, passionate and brimming with warmth and energy.
Both whiskies are available and alongside them, the official blended Scotch — The Hampden Pour.
Spirit of Brazil: A Landmark Scotland–Brazil Spirits Collaboration – Seven Sons 28yo Single Malt Scotch Whisky
A unique triple release featuring two distinct whiskies and a premium cachaça. Sharing the same name and labels linked together by the use of the Spirit of Brazil tartan. These spirits express three very different terroirs while celebrating a unified cultural bond.
8 Doors Distillery curated a Single Malt Scotch Whisky released under their Seven Sons label. This single cask liquid was personally selected by Master Blender John Ramsay and distilled in 1998—the same year Scotland last faced Brazil in a FIFA World Cup match.

This unprecedented project brought together Lamas Destilaria (Brazil), 8 Doors Distillery (Scotland), and Casa Studart Cachaçaria (Brazil).

Spirit of Brazil: A Landmark Scotland–Brazil Spirits Collaboration – Lamas Spirit of Brazil Single Malt Whisky
Based in Minas Gerais, Southeast Brazil, Lamas Destilaria released its first Brazilian Single Malt whisky in 2019. The distillery specialises in single malt whisky crafted using methods inspired by Scotch whisky, adapted to local conditions and terroir, and enhanced by the use of native Brazilian woods to create distinctive flavour profiles.
For their ‘Spirit of Brazil’ limited release, Lamas Destilaria produced a Brazilian Single Malt Whisky matured in ex-bourbon American oak casks and finished in pau-brasil (Paubrasilia echinata), a native wood deeply embedded in the country’s identity as the national tree of Brazil.

The Spirit of Brazil launch event took place at the Scottish Football Museum, located within Hampden Park, Scotland’s national stadium. All profits from the event will be donated to IPA Brazil and IPA Scotland. The date was chosen to commemorate the anniversary of the first football match played in Brazil by Charles Miller on 14th April, who is responsible for bringing football to Brazil.

One of these is a 28 year old 1998 Glen Garioch, a single cask bottled at a naturally low cask strength ABV of 42.1% with only 134 bottles produced, the perfect dram to toast Scotland’s return to the world stage.

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) – A Belter for America
The SMWS have released a limited edition 35cl whisky called ‘A Belter for America’ to celebrate Scotland’s return to the FIFA World Cup after a 28-year absence. The half-size bottle is designed as a travel companion for fans heading to the United States this summer.
The release is a rare departure for the members-only club, as the bottle is available to all whisky fans.
The label design captures the now famous overhead kick against Denmark at Hampden Park and it is a nod to Letter to America by The Proclaimers. The SMWS described the band as “Scotland’s other most famous export.”
A Belter for America is one of two limited edition expressions the SMWS has created to mark Scotland’s return to the world stage.
Stirling Distillery – Billy Bremner Whisky
Scotland’s national independent fans organisation, the Scottish Football Supporters’ Association (SFSA), has launched an exclusive whisky created by The Stirling Distillery with just 4 bottles available to help raise funds for the Bremner statue at Raploch Stirling.
Cameron McCann of the Stirling Distillery said, “ When we were approached by the SFSA , we were delighted to be involved in such a worthwhile project to honour Stirling’s finest footballer. The 11 year old Speyside Malt is we believe a fitting tribute to Stirling’s most famous son.”
Stirling Distillery – The Beautiful Game Edition Blended Malt Scotch Whisky
Stirling Distillery has also created a special bottling to celebrate 154 years of Scottish Football.
