What We’re Looking For…

FUNKIN Cocktails are looking for a senior Finance Leader to carry out a broad scope of responsibilities from overseeing day to day operations through to senior level strategic business partnering and team leadership. This is a key hire to take FUNKIN from a start up to a scale up, delivering a highly ambitious growth plan for the next 5 years, driving revenue from £42m to £100m.

The FUNKIN Finance Leader will play a critical and pivotal role in the company’s development, being a close partner to the Managing Director and the FUNKIN Leadership team in setting the direction of the company and its path to long term sustainable growth.

Your Responsibilities Will Include…

    • Support the transition from start-up to scale-up, ensuring excellence and continuous improvement in areas such as: reporting, controls, audit reviews, risk management, KPIs and demand planning.
    • Project lead on systems change projects, such as MRP
    • Close business partner to the MD to find, grasp and execute against opportunities and threats both in the UK and abroad
    • Financial insight and commercial acumen to drive growth, cost optimisation, and positive change
    • Develop, execute and evaluate strategic initiatives (e.g. market entries, significant customer opportunities, business model changes, etc),
    • Install a fast learning culture, with quick pivots as market and assumptions change
    • Lead the Strategic Planning process and Budget process for the business
    • A key player in making overall cross functional decision for the business, ensuring financial goals align with operational objectives
    • Lead, mentor and develop a team of 5 finance professionals, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
    • Enable step change in business partnering capability within the team


The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualified accountant with significant post-qualified experience
  • Proven experience operating in a Business Partnering role at Executive level
  • Proven track record of working in a Commercial and Brand focused finance role
  • Experience of and significant contribution to fast and successful business growth
  • Preferably experience of expansion into international markets
  • FMCG experience highly desirable, ideally with experience in the Spirits sector
  • Proven senior leadership skills and ability to handle a broad spectrum of stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Strong people management and development capability
