Reporting to the General Manager, Nordics, the Commercial Director is responsible for defining and applying the commercial strategy throughout all the channels and brands within the MH Portfolio for MH Nordics, in Norway, Sweden and Denmark.

The Commercial Director will play a vital role in:

  • Developing the distribution strategy, putting the excellence and the selectivity of the distribution at the center, building strong partnerships and with existing and new customers across Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
  • Developing the brands’ equity to build momentum in the market, working closely with the Marketing Director and ensuring to craft the best experiences for our consumers.
  • Ensuring the right structure for the Route to Consumer in Scandinavia, developing the team’s capabilities in order to deliver the MH Nordics ambition.
  • Continuously develop an ambitious team and a strong culture that embraces MH values and LVMH.
  • Being an ambassador of our brands, sharing the passion and expertise in wines and spirits and providing our customers with creative and tailor-made advice.
  • Being an active member of the Exec Team of MH Nordics, demonstrating strong leadership, a collective spirit in any circumstance, an active listening and an openness beyond departments, positioning the interest of the company before the interest of the Commercial department.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE

Strategy

– Define, implement and share internally the Long-Term Commercial vision and strategy for MH Nordics.

– Develop a comprehensive 3-year business strategy across all brands and channels, to develop the business and drive long-term value creation (profit + brand equity).

– Be the guarantor of the excellence of the selective distribution in Nordics to develop the desirability of our brands, whatever the channel.

– Monitor environment, competition, and route to consumers. Gather, use and share within the company comprehensive competitor information.

Commercial

– Lead the exclusive distribution strategy.

– Lead the price/ assortment /visibility negotiations when required and coach the team on the negotiation techniques.

– Define and Follow-up pricing strategy and results working closely with the CFO and Controlling Team.

– Build and deliver the yearly business plan, land it with designated accounts that will accomplish each channel strategy.

– Regularly share the commercial KPI, opportunities, issues with the Exec team.

Team Management

– Define clear annual objectives for all direct reports in line with the company strategy and business priorities. Monitor the performance throughout the year and adjust if necessary.

– Act as a coach and ensure the team masters the negotiation techniques, develops an analytical mindset and are autonomous in the management of tough negotiations and business decisions with key players.

– Work closely with HR and the GM in order to provide the right level of organization design for the commercial team in order to ensure the appropriate route to market / consumer approach for the development of the market.

Budget

– Actively involved in the annual budget process, building the volume and pricing recommendation in collaboration with Sales Managers and the CFO and Controlling team

Professional experience & know how:

– Successful track record on commercial management positions.

– Has the ability and potential to engage on all general management topics.

– Proven success in building brands, developing a market/region, and driving sales performance and transformation.

– Experience with European markets, knowledge of the Nordic Off-Trade Monopol market would be a plus.

– Ability to develop close relationships with internal, external partners and be a visible MH Ambassador.

– Thrives in an environment that is fast paced, rapidly changing.

Languages

– Languages: English required

– Scandinavian language (Norwegian, Swedish or Danish) is a plus.

– French is a plus as well
