Holyrood Distillery

Holyrood Distillery, an independent single malt whisky and gin distillery located in Edinburgh at the heart of the Scottish capital, is reaching new “flavour destinations” through its exciting use of heritage and speciality malts combined with different types of yeasts.

We are seeking a highly motivated, well-organised, dynamic and independent Business Development Manager for Scotland that will soak up the passion already present for our business and effectively share it with new and existing customers. The key priority is to develop the distribution and awareness of Holyrood Distillery’s spirit portfolio across the Scottish national territory. By necessity, the role is therefore hybrid as it will require plenty of flexibility and a multitude of skills. The successful candidate will be in the early stages of developing a career in the spirit drinks industry but will already have a strong natural interest in the sector with focus on whisky, gin and, ideally, rum. As well as commercial awareness, the role requires an ability to knowledgeably present the brand in a range of settings and varied audience types.

Brand development is expected to be undertaken across all key routes to market with an emphasis on the on-trade sector and related wholesale distributors as well as a focus on key off-trade retailers. Interested candidates will need to be located in the Central Belt.

– Develop a portfolio of existing and new on- and off-trade independent customers through direct interaction.

– Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of progress against which your performance will be measured.

– While maintaining existing and newly acquired customer relationships, keep on growing the Holyrood Distillery brands’ presence.

– Understand customers’ needs and develop solutions that address these wherever possible through brand activations and commercial or ambassadorial support.

– Have the confidence to captivate an audience.

– Support evening and weekend tastings, activations or festivals.

– Always work as an ambassador and passionate representative of the Holyrood Distillery brand that will simply make people want to engage with us.

– Work closely with the small but ambitious Holyrood commercial team. Specifically, collaboratively work with and, at the right time, manage the existing Edinburgh sales executive.
