We are looking for a strong, self-motivated Business Development Manager to drive increased sales both in the UK and internationally. This hugely exciting business is a young, high growth company at an exciting stage of expansion. With a growing reputation in the whisky and hospitality industries for high quality education courses, you will relish the opportunity to take the B2B business to the next level.

 

Job responsibilities:

  • Establish relations with existing clients and develop closer integration with their education programmes
  • Develop partnerships with new accounts with a focus o the commercial results for both parties
  • Plan and conduct sales & marketing activities
  • Focus on new business – in the UK and overseas – to deliver and exceed revenue targets (International markets offer significant growth potential and this is a key part of the role)
  • Collaborate with clients to develop training programmes to suit their range of courses
  • Build strong partnerships and trust with key clients, ensuring they are the “best in industry” education company
  • Maintain an up-to-date client and prospect database showing revenue and profit opportunities, as well as progress towards goals
  • Develop leads and nurture opportunities that convert into customers

 

Personal characteristics and experience:

  • Proactive, with energy and enthusiasm to connect with people and build strong relationships
  • Hands-on operator in a small team with strong commercial acumen
  • Demonstrable experience in account management and developing relationships
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (you will be the face of the business to our B2B customers)
  • Ability to work in partnership with internal team and external agencies
  • Drinks industry experience and knowledge (desirable but not essential; a track record of commercially successful partnerships is more important)
  • As the role is home-based, self-motivation and the ability to work on your own initiative are also important
