Area Sales Manager

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Area Sales Manager to join our sales team and represent WEST across the East and North of Scotland.

This is a field based role, with the majority of your time spent out visiting existing and prospective on trade customers across your territory. You’ll manage and develop relationships with our existing customers, while identifying and securing new business opportunities to grow both volume and distribution.

You’ll be responsible for managing your own territory, planning customer visits and developing new accounts, while working closely with the wider WEST team. As part of a small and ambitious sales team, you’ll have plenty of autonomy and the opportunity to make a real impact on the growth of the brand.

We’re looking for someone who genuinely loves beer, understands the importance of great customer relationships and is motivated by commercial results. You’ll be representing WEST out in the market, so being confident, personable and knowledgeable about our products is important.

Essential

• A genuine love of beer and an interest in the wider drinks industry
• Full UK driving licence
• Access to a vehicle for work purposes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A commercial, target-driven approach
• Confident building and maintaining strong customer relationships
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a field-based role
• Strong organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to manage your own diary and territory
• A proactive approach to identifying and winning new business
• Professional, confident and personable when representing the WEST brand

Desirable

• At least 2 years’ experience in a field sales role within the drinks industry, either brand or wholesale
• Existing on-trade contacts across Scotland
• Experience managing a sales territory
• A proven track record of winning new accounts and growing existing business
• Experience working to sales targets and KPIs
• Previous experience using CRM or sales reporting systems
