The warmer weather is with us once again and with increasing temperatures, how better to cool down than with a boozy frozen treat such as an alcoholic ice lolly cocktail or perhaps the new ice-cream collaboration from Guinness and Van Leeuwen in the US?
Inspired by the classic “Lovely Day for a Guinness” ads of the 1950s, this limited-edition ice cream pays homage to that same legacy while offering a new way to enjoy the brand during the summertime, combining Van Leeuwen’s ultra-creamy ice cream with the flavour of Guinness mixed with rich chocolate chunks (note that despite the Guinness flavour, this is non-alcoholic).

Earlier this year, Graeter’s Ice Cream and New Riff Distilling unveiled a sweet collaboration honouring the rich flavours of Kentucky: Bourbon Ball Ice Cream. I don’t know about you, but that sounds delicious….
Graeter’s Bourbon Ball Ice Cream is a rich, bourbon-infused ice cream (0.5% abv) with whiskey-glazed pecans and dark chocolate chips.
Häagen-Dazs has previously launched a Spirits-Infused ice cream range (o.5% abv) which included Irish Cream Brownie, Rum Tres Leches, Bourbon Vanilla Bean Truffle, Stout Chocolate Pretzel Crunch, Bourbon Praline Cream, Non-Dairy Amaretto Black Cherry Almond Toffee and dark chocolate dipped Irish Cream Cookie Squares.
Typsy Scoop liquor-infused ice cream flavours are all inspired by classic and contemporary cocktails and made with local and seasonal ingredients in New York, such as their Strawberry Shortcake Margarita ice-cream (5% abv) collaboration with Mi Campo Tequila.
Hardscoop Premium Alcohol ice-cream producer is aiming to “redefine desserts for adults” with their premium, hand-crafted ice-creams and sorbets at 8-10% abv. One such example is their collaboration with Pusser’s Rum to create The Painkiller, a cocktail originally created in the 1970’s in the British Virgin Islands which includes pineapple juice, orange juice, coconut and Pusser’s Rum at 8% abv for a tropical state of mind!
Jeni’s Splendid Ice-Creams has released some limited-edition boozy treats in the past, such as their collaboration with Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey to create the Hot Toddy Sorbet and the Boozy Eggnog Ice-Cream (0.5% abv).
