Podcasts have been around for the last 20 years or so and helped to change the way we share information through audio storytelling. However, there are still millions of people who do not know what they are or how to listen to them. The best podcasts can inform, educate, and entertain, all at once. Here are some of the top podcasts for those of us interested on drinks and the industry….

The Bourbon Lens

Craft Beer Radio

The Craft Beer Radio Podcast are two guys in their basement studio publishing a mostly weekly beer education audio show since mid 2005. Their goal is to educate and evangelize good beer. A recent podcast example includes ‘Why does it smell like feet?’.


This podcast dates back to 2010 and is hosted by Dr. Brad Smith, and it is a mixture of interviews, beer history and information on home brewing. One podcast example is ‘Viking Age Brew with Mika Laitinen‘.

The Beerists

The Beerists is an independently-produced, podcast by four craft beer lovers (with the occasional guest) in Austin, TX USA. Latest podcast available when researching was episode 381 ‘We’re Finally Fine‘.

Good Beer Hunting

Good Beer Hunting (GBH), founded by Michael Kiser, is a ‘critical, creative and curious voice int he world of beer’. Their podcast contains interviews with personalities from the beer industry and coverage of events also. A recent podcast includes ‘NYC Beer Week Panel, Pt. 2‘.

Steal This Beer

Beer gurus Augie Carton (Carton Brewing) and John Holl (Craft Beer & Brewing Magazine) get to the bottom of the day’s most pressing craft beer issues with help from opinionated brewer friends, know-it-all barkeeps, and smarmy industry insiders. Previous podcast includes ‘Martyn Cornell, British Beer Historian and Author’.


Brews News is Australia’s definitive, independent online source of beer news and current affairs. Part blog, part online magazine. Recent podcast includes ‘Beer is a Conversation Special: Martin Dickie‘.


The Brewbound Podcast is an extension of Brewbound’s leading B2B beer industry reporting, featuring interviews with beer industry executives and entrepreneurs, along with highlights and commentary from the weekly news. Wine for Normal People (Elizabeth Schneider)

Hosted by certified sommelier and wine specialist, Elizabeth Schneider, Wine for Normal People translates wine into normal terms that allow people to relate to through an award-winning podcast, popular blog, and in acclaimed public speaking events. Recent episodes include ‘Danny Glover – From LA Musician to L’Object Wine’.

UK Wine Show

Produced by wine event and education provider, ThirtyFifty, the podcast is hosted by Chris Scott and features interviews with winemakers, consumers, critics and wine bar owners in the UK. A podcast example includes ‘Sardinia and Cannonau with Sarah Heller MW‘, the youngest person to become a Master of Wine (MW).

The Vincast

The Vincast podcast is hosted by ‘The Intrepid Wino’, and is all about wine, wine culture and wine people. Each episode covers someone from a different field in the wine industry, to gain some insight into their experiences, philosophies, practices and personality as it relates to wine and what they do. An older podcast example is ‘Dr. Damien Wilson, Professor of Wine Marketing’.

The Mixology Talk Podcast

A show all about bartending, cocktails, hospitality and having a long and rewarding career in the hospitality business, founded by Chris and Julia Tunstall in 2012 and covering interviews and advice. Bartender HQ

Life Behind Bars

Hosted by the Daily Beast’s Half Full editor Noah Rothbaum and its legendary columnist David Wondrich, this podcast allows listeners to be flies on the wall as two of the world’s foremost drinks experts talk about cocktails and spirits. It is a mix of engaging stories and historical facts about the greatest bartenders and drinks of all time. In 2018, it won the Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Award for the world’s best drinks podcast.

Living Proof: Conversations for Bartenders

The podcast for bartenders and anyone who likes to drink well.
